She spends most of her time at her home handling form designs, creating print ads or coupons work that can be tedious and colorless. Four canines and four felines watched her from outside her office. Because of those faces, this 34 year old's world suddenly opened up to new career. During her trip to Texas to visit her parents, he looked at the animals' pictures and proceeded to put their images on canvas. The colors used in the portrait of the animal are colors she feels reflect thea animal's personality. Getting their essence is what she wants to achieve. With different colors, I can paint the animal's personality and looks. In Mississippi, she painted a mixed breed, which was her first painting. It was a red dog, and it never left them. She painted her dog green because he's jealous of the other animals. She's not alone in creating animal portraits with nonconventional colors. In 1984, a cajun artist made a portrait of a red eyed blue dog, inspired by her own dog who had died four years ago. The blue dog is a standout in her paintings.
